DRDO Deputation Jobs 2026: General Conditions for Deputation Appointment

Eligibility of Departmental Officers:

  • Officers who are in the feeder category and are in the direct line of promotion will not be considered for appointment on deputation. Likewise, candidates appointed on deputation will not be eligible for appointment by promotion during the deputation period.

Post No. 1: Joint Director (Administration)

The Joint Director (Administration) shall advise the Director on administrative and personnel matters in large R&D laboratories to ensure effective and efficient achievement of the laboratory’s objectives.

Main Functions:

  • Administrative Management

  1. Assist in planning civil works projects from the conceptual stage to detailed architectural and structural design, including preparation of specifications, bills of quantities, and cost estimates for buildings, utility services, and external services.
  2. Assist in execution of selected time-bound R&D civil works projects.
  3. Prepare and implement schemes related to landscaping, arboriculture, and environmental/ecological improvements for DRDO centres, including execution on turnkey, consultancy, or contract basis.
  4. Develop management structures and procedures for maintenance of buildings and utility assets until they are handed over to MES/Director of Estates.
  5. Take necessary contract actions, including preparation and issue of work packages.

  • The Senior Accounts Officer Grade–II shall be responsible for handling accounts and financial matters in the establishment/laboratory.

  1. Look after all matters relating to Accounts and Purchases.
  2. Undertake budget forecasting, expenditure control, and monitoring of financial outflow.
  3. Ensure proper supervision of pay and allowances, preparation of bills, project costing, and related expenditure matters.

  2. Process cases for Departmental Promotion Committees (DPCs), promotions, confirmations, reviews at 50/55 years of age or completion of 30 years of service, crossing of Efficiency Bar (EB), and disciplinary matters.
  3. Process cases for direct recruitment as per Recruitment Rules and Government instructions.
  4. Handle pay and allowances matters, including pay fixation on initial appointment and promotion.
  5. Maintain leave records, service books, and personal files.
  6. Process pension cases within prescribed timelines.
  7. Issue Daily Orders Part-II, increment sheets, and other establishment orders.

The Stores Officer shall be responsible for supervision and management of stores and inventory functions in the establishment.
