Essential Qualifications
Candidates must have:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Sciences / Public Health / Humanities or related fields.
- Applicants must be residents of Assam (for Assam-based posts) or Nagaland (for Nagaland-based posts) and should have good familiarity with the local communities.
- Good communication skills in local language and English. (spoken and basic written communication).
- Experience in field surveys, interviews, or community work.
- Willingness to travel and work in field conditions.
- Basic ability to use mobile data collection tools (KOBO/ODK).
Desirable Skills
- Experience in FGDs (Focus Group Discussions) and interviews.
- Knowledge of data entry, data checking, record maintenance, transcription and translations of field interviews.
- Experience or familiarity in working with informal sector populations or vulnerable communities.
Roles and Responsibilities
Selected candidates will:
- Conduct field data collection through interviews, surveys, and discussions with street vendors as per project guidelines.
- Record responses accurately using electronic or paper-based tools.
- Ensure informed consent and follow ethical standards during all interactions.
- Check data for completeness and consistency before submission.
- Assist in data entry, cleaning, and organization.
- Support transcription and translation from local languages to English.
- Coordinate with the Project Coordinator for daily fieldwork and reporting.
- Maintain confidentiality and proper data security.
- Perform other assigned field-related tasks.
