About the DRDO Research Project
The internship is offered under the research project titled:
“Design and development of SiC MEMS based piezoresistive and MOSFET embedded pressure sensors for high temperature application (No. – DFTM/07/3603/DIA-CoE,MZU/MEMS/P-03)“
The project is sponsored by the Directorate of Futuristic Technology Management (DFTM) under Defence Research and Development Organisation, (DRDO).
Students selected for this internship will gain exposure to advanced research in:
- MEMS technology
- Pressure sensor design
- Semiconductor device simulation
- High-temperature applications
- Fabrication process flow development

NIT Meghalaya DRDO Internship 2026 – Eligibility Criteria
B.Tech Candidates
Students pursuing B.Tech in:
- Electronics & Communication Engineering
- Electronics-related Engineering fields
Candidates must have completed at least 6 semesters of their course.
M.Tech Candidates
Students pursuing M.Tech in:
- Microelectronics
- VLSI
- Electronics
- Related specializations
Candidates must have completed at least 2 semesters.
Preferred Skills
Candidates with hands-on experience or knowledge of:
- Silvaco TCAD Software
- COMSOL Multiphysics Software
will be given preference during the selection process.
Internship Work and Responsibilities
Selected candidates will work on:
- Design and simulation of SiC-MEMS based pressure sensors
- Device modeling and analysis
- Development of fabrication process flow
- High-temperature sensor applications
This internship provides practical research exposure in modern semiconductor and MEMS technologies.
Internship Stipend
Selected students will receive:
- â‚ą20,000 per month
during their internship period.
